The Iowa Pet Breeders Association (IaPBA) originated as a cooperative effort of 7 determined women from 6 points of the State of Iowa.  The 7 women, Carolyn Arends, Bonnie Aschinger, Laura Bone, Michelle Erickson, Pat Noethe, Julie Peterson and Denny Wiese, worked hundreds of hours to organize Iowa Pet Breeders Association.  Along with the assistance of MPBA members Tom Hawley, Carol Baker, Patti Brigance, and Joy Hicks, IaPBA became an organization dedicated to improve the pet industry.  They all gave unlimited hours of support and information to form the IaPBA.
The IaPBA is an organization formed to advance IOWA companion production and marketing by conducting educational meetings, distributing informational materials, and promoting and cooperating with other organizations to support the companion animal industry in IOWA.
The IaPBA will offer an opportunity to exchange ideas and information
with others engaged in the companion animal industry.  It is an avenue to
provide educational materials and information through newsletters,
workshops and meetings, as well as promote "IOWA-BORN-AND RAISED" companion animals.  Members will be kept informed on legislative issues
and actions which affect the pet industry, and will be offered the
opportunity to voice their opinions and concerns pertaining to such
legislative actions.
